Grilling takes skill. We all know that. But it's a misconception that grilling vegetables correctly is hard.
Eating healthy is important, and grilling vegetables is actually one of the easiest ways to prepare them. (And lets be honest, everything tastes better from a grill.)
Thanks to our friends over at Girls Can Grill, we also have a handy infographic for grilling vegetables to make it even easier.
3 Steps to Grilling Vegetables
Grilling veggies can be broken down into 3 steps, each as easy as the one before it.
Step 1: Choose Your Veggies.
Everyone's veggie tastes differ. Hit the local market and figure out what you want, whether that's the same two vegetables you always get or a few new ones you haven't tried yet! (p.s. ALWAYS WASH YOUR VEGGIES!)
Step 2: Season Your Veggies.
Don't freak out! The best way to season grilled veggies is simply tossing them in olive oil, salt, and pepper. See? Easy. And if that's not enough seasoning for you, you can always season to taste when they come off the grill.
Step 3: Grill Your Veggies.
This step is the most varying, but still simple. For any veggie, the ideal heat is medium-high (375-ish Fahrenheit). The only variant is the time. Cue our handy-dandy infographic!
Additional Tips:
1. If you chose a larger veggie, try cutting it into halves, wedges, or slices. Just know that the thinner the piece, the less time it will take to grill.
2. If you chose a small or thin veggie, such as broccoli or asparagus, take precaution to keep them from falling through the cracks. You can wrap them in aluminum foil, or use a grill mat.
